Located in South Norfolk, this converted cart lodge has been renovated into a self-contained annex. In order to preserve some of the original features, we kept the original pitch pine beams and cladded the front in untreated oak, allowing it to naturally age over time.

Designed to entertain family and friends, the bespoke kitchen features a large 3 metre island with a dark quartz worktop. In keeping with the dark colour palette, we colour-matched the walls and cupboards to create a consistent tone throughout the space. Matt black barstool from Italian supplier Kristalia provide a practical seating area and mirror the linearity of the lights above. A horizontal window box breaks up the space, allowing for additional greenery and natural light.

In order to create a division between the kitchen and living area, we chose a Little Greene paint in the shade Silt to warm the space. Furnishing the room with pieces from one of our main suppliers, Ligne Roset, ensures a modern, dynamic feel. These include the Ploum sofa, Togo Fireside chair and Oxydation table. A textured rug unites the grey and brown tones, while a Petite Friture Vertigo light introduces an additional copper tone. The media unit comes from Italian brand Pianca, who offer customisable storage solutions  in numerous finishes. The living area is styled with some of our contemporary accessory brands, including iittala, HAY and Lyngby.

In the bedroom, we added visual interest by painting half of the wall in Pompeian Ash from Little Greene. Patterned textiles from Threads make up the cushions and blind, contrasting the tonal green bed linen. Wallpaper from Casamance and a slatted wall panel frame the bathroom, complimented by a concrete unit and black sink. Missoni towels and a Lyngby vase add natural brown and amber tomes, tying the space to the rest of the house.
