Iittala Birds by Toikka Annual Bird 2024 Alder Thrush

Oiva Toikka created each Birds by Toikka glass birds in close cooperation with glassblowers, first at the Nuutajärvi glass factory and later at the Iittala glass factory, this technique results in every birds markings being slightly different. A real bird inspires each of these birds, but they embody Toikka’s inexhaustible imagination and artistic approach to glass. The bird of the year 2024, Alder Thrush, has a classic bird shape with attractive brown, blue and green feather decorations. The Bird of the Year is the perfect gift to commemorate the most important moments of the year or a unique addition to any collector’s collection. Each bird is engraved with the year’s mark.
